  • That's not a knife... well, I guess it isn't NOW...

Today’s printables.com is a blade holder… the designer said my print is “flawless.” Now, if I forget I have my knife on me, I throw away the blade. If someone in TSA is stupid silly after that, fine I’ll throw away the 25 cents in plastic too… “I can reprint it, I have the technology…”

  • SPOOL!

todays printables.com is gridfinity spools. I have the bug and now must spool the solder, some tape, magnet wire, maybe some micro paracord… SPOOL! (It was originally going to be this instead of SPOON! Just sayin')

  • Little things cause big failures

Today’s printables.com is a set of slide top boxes. I immediately used the first batch and had to print another batch. Terrible problem to have ;) This is also my first multi color print. It worked flawlessly… after 8 hours of troubleshooting with tech support… Lot’s of little things.

  • Prusa on a Pixoo-Max

Today’s printables.com is me sharing a short video with an animated gif I created. It shows the badges I’ve received on the printables.com site. The display is a Divoom Pixoo-Max. I’m sure I’ll be back to printing in the near future.

  • It's a.... 3D printer with MMU!

Today’s printables.com is 3D printing…. T-SHIRTS! Yes, there is a process to print to t-shirts using a 3D printer. But the BIG announcement is… My upgrade is complete. I now have a emperor Palpatine voice “fully operational” 3D printer with MMU capability… Okay, it’s no death star.

  • Makin' shortuns outta longuns!

Today’s printables.com is brought to you by the need to make long Bowden tubes (used to move filament to various points) short. The tubes are made of PTFE (Teflon) and provide a route for filament to follow. I even submitted my make. Tomorrow will be a big day, major changes are coming!

  • Protect your salty nuts!

Today’s printables.com is brought to you by…. someone on the interwebz. I printed out this pistachio cup (pistachios with shells go inside the inner cup, shells are dropped in the little chute and emptied into trash later). The lid helps protect from squirrels and camp robbers.

  • Monitor head unit mount for my Yaesu radio

Today’s printables.com is brought to you by… ME! I made a thing! This is for mounting my Yaesu FTM-400(xdr) head unit above my monitor. It’s about the simplest way I could think of to do this. Of course I’m designing a more complicated version that is also compatible with the 100 and 500.

  • So much color coordinated

Today’s printables.com took my bland, boring, clashing, light blue, dry box with steel bearings and a plastic axle and made a beautiful, loud, color coordinated, orange and black, dry box with a buffer for direct MMU connection. I reprinted everything but the black lid and clear case in PETG.

  • What it's like your first time...

Today’s printables.com is brought to you by… ME! I created my first model in Shapr3D. I then printed it on my MK4S. The result is that I have twice as many compartments now, though they are half as big. If you don’t have a printer available and need some, I’d be happy to print you a complete kit for $30.

  • Ruggedizing the MMU connector…

Today’s printables.com brought to you because of my MMU3. The MMU is an upgrade that allows me to use several filaments in a single print (multiple colors as an example). Yes, I would download a car.

  • Going Poly!

The MMU is done. I’m waiting for my PolyDryers so that I can retrofit a spool auto-rewinder and not have to have a buffer taking up space. Until the PolyDryers get here I’m a one filament guy. But when they arrive, I’m totally poly!

  • Square Circles

In all the excitement I got to learn a VALUABLE lesson regarding annealing PETG. On the upside I now know the results of squaring a circle… Downside… another three hours of printing parts. Upside…. I can fix it myself.

  • What about more than one filament type?

Too much is NOT ENOUGH! Now that I have completed and tested the MK4S upgrade… Time to print the MMU upgrade. The Multi Material Unit allows for different colors and different filament types in a single print. Once it’s done printing I’ll start assembly.

  • PRUSA MK3S to MK4S upgrade

This was Friday. It was time to upgrade the MK3S to an MK4S. We WAAAAANTS input shaping, we NEEEEEEEEDS input shaping. I’ve decided on a hostname for it that I think is perfect. Since this started life as a MK2, got upgraded to a 3S, and then to a 4S… Theseus.
